The ceprDATA Uniform Data Extracts, which provide much of the data for the Bridging the Gaps project, are free, open-source programs. CEPR encourages researchers to use these readily-available data sources for similar projects.

NCCP Family Resource Simulator
The National Center for Children in Poverty's Family Resource Simulator is an interactive web-based tool that calculates family resources and expenses as earnings increase, taking public benefits into account. The user creates a hypothetical family by making choices about city and state, family characteristics, income sources, assets, and debt. The user also selects which public benefits the family receives when eligible. The result is a series of graphs that show the impact of public benefits on family resources and basic family expenses as earnings rise.
The Working Poor Families Project
Working Poor Families Project was created in 2001 to assess state efforts to assist the working poor. This national initiative was started by the Annie E. Casey Foundation and is now also supported by The Ford Foundation, The Joyce Foundation, and The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation.
